Can you believe 2020 is almost a wrap?!
It felt just like yesterday I was screaming at the top of my lungs: HAPPY NEW YEAR! Now, here we are just twenty days shy of celebrating another new year. Though, this time I may not be screaming as loud.
2020 felt like 10 years in 1 year—-one of the shortest long years I’ve ever experienced. Everything that could have happened happened. The ups & the down, the good & the bad, death of loved ones & birth of a new born, mourning & celebration, isolation & togetherness, and etc. Irrespective of it all, I stand firm in the spirit of gratitude. I am immensely grateful. Grateful, that I am still alive to witness today. Oh what a privilege it is, and I do not take it for granted!
2020 unfolded a lot and encouraged many growths. It will take physiological abnormalities to forget the stronghold and memory of 2020. As I reflect on how the year started, I can’t help but get emotional: what a year! It has been an emotionally and mentally exhausting year, but God. It is truly by the infinite grace of God that I made it this far, really.
With just few weeks left, I am hopeful and optimistic that what is to come—2021— will be better than 2020. So, come December 31st, I’ll rejoice for what’s to come. But most importantly, I will rejoice and celebrate life and the challenges that became a learning experience and an opportunity for growth.
Having to adapt to unforeseen changes while trying to make sense of your new norm is a resume-worthy skill. So, while you may not have accomplished all that you had set forth to do this year perhaps, due to forces beyond your control—you achieved the most important one: staying alive. If you made it this far into the year, you have a reason to pat yourself on the back and be proud of yourself.
Incase you didn’t notice, here’s a reminder that it’s almost a wrap! Keep pushing through: one step at a time! You got it!
