Two Thousand & 23

Before you read any further: Happy New Year friends! May your 2023 be all that you hope for and more.

Six days into the sparkling new year and I’m grateful to have witnessed the end of 2022. The year 2022 brought about many growth oppurtunities, and by the grace of God I tackled each one head-on. 2022 was the year of many firsts—I tried and did many things for the first time. Though it was scary at the moment, but as I reflect back, I can’t help but ponder: why was I sacred again?!

Even in the midst of many firsts and great oppurtunities, there were many goals that were neglected and went unfulfilled. I got so entangled in pursuing oppurtunities that I unintentionally abandoned goals that are greatly important. So the year 2023 is my chance to try again and pick up where I left off. Though it’s disappointing that I am yet to achieve said goals, today, I choose to extend a little grace to myself. Today, I choose to not dwell on the time passed, but to focus on the time ahead. Today, I choose to focus on the possible growth ahead and not the previous years of regression.

Trying again or picking up where you left off is a courageous and bold step towards the right direction. It doesn’t make you a failure. It simply means you possess a growth mindset with a willingness to learn from your mistake while forging ahead with an improved approach. It takes willpower to try again from an unsuccessful attempt. So, if you’re like me and you have one or two repeated goals in your 2023 goal list, then I applaud you.

If it’s a repeated goal, then it is definitely worth trying again. Don’t quit on yourself. Don’t count yourself out this year. You’re worth it. You’re deserving. You can achieve it.
