The year has come to an end and guess who is here? You. You made it, and that’s a feat greater than any goals that you are currently beating yourself up for not accomplishing. Today you are here. That’s a big deal. Really, it is.
January came and went by, and so did February, March, April, May, June, July, then August, September, October, November, and finally December. Twelve months later, and you are still here: alive and breathing. Isn’t that marvelous? Isn’t it a blessing? A million and one things could have taken you out, but you’re still here. That calls for a celebration, and let me be the first to tell you congratulations. Congratulations for making it this far into 2021. Congratulations for persevering and pushing through each day of 2021 even during unpleasant circumstances and unforeseen events.
The end of year is often peak time for feeling defeated and disappointed for not accomplishing certain set of goals. This, of course, is absolutely normal human reaction. However, what about the goals that you did accomplish? Have you pat yourself in the back for that? It is easy to forget all we have achieved and focus on the things not done and things we don’t have.
As a new year unfolds, I hope you magnify your victories more and shrink your shortcomings. I hope you celebrate your wins more and focus less on your losses. I hope you maximize your confidence and minimize your worries. I hope you fix your eyes on your blessings and remove your gaze from your flaws.
As always, I’m rooting for you. You got this!
