Such is Life

It is very much possible to work extremely hard and still fail. “What do you mean?” You may ask. I mean you can invest time and effort into a task only to lead to no avail. Unfortunately, it happens. Think of all the unsuccessful surgeries performed by well educated and experienced doctors. Think of how many times it took well known inventors to finally achieve success. Think of how many failure it took researchers, scientist, chefs, architects, artist, and etc to attain success; it takes more than one failed attempt to achieve one success. Such is life; C’est la vie. The thing about life is that—sometimes, it lets you do all that you can and then tells you: not enough!

What then do you? Do you back out? Call it quits? I hope not! Here, my dear, is when a very good friend, determination, comes in. Determination is a firm or forced intention to achieve a desired end. No matter the obstacles and opposition, your attitude and mindset must remain “I must achieve my goals!”

You’ve to fervently pursue your goals with discipline and determination. When life knocks you down, take the time to heal, cry, mourn, feel the pain, then dust yourself back up. Do not skip the healing process, it does you no good. Cry if you must, but you must keep on going. Don’t let a single setback set you back forever. Find the courage to try again. Find the strength to try again. Try again. Your attitude towards adversity shouldn’t be to give up and quit. Your attitude should be of gratitude because every adversity teaches us important life lessons (if you’re paying attention). Without them, there will be no room for growth. Learn from your failure and use what you’ve learned as a stepping stone for a greater comeback.

In the pursuit for success, there will also be several decisions, events, and situations that will be beyond your control. When you encounter them, make sure you have done your part to the best of your abilities and move on to the next task and project. It’ll be a waste of your precious time to ponder on these unknown out-of-your-control events: avoid worrying. It doesn’t and won’t change a thing. Focus on what you can control, and leave the rest to God.

Maybe not today—perhaps, not tomorrow, but my hope is that you find the will to try again. You can do it. You got it. I believe in you. I’m rooting for you.
