“For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten son…”
– John 3:16
God is love. He is the true embodiment of what love is and what love should be. He exemplifies the true definition of love. His love is unconditional, He bears no grudges, nor keep malice. His love is unending and unfailing. His love is kind and gentle. He loves you regardless because His love is nonjudgmental. His love has no ‘buts’ and ‘ifs’ and ‘maybes.’ His love is pure and undiluted–100% organic natural love.
He so loved you and I so dearly that He “demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8. He paid the ultimate price: the ultimate sacrifice.
For God so loved the world—He loved so dearly the world— that He gave His only begotten son to die for our sake (John 3:16). He sent His beloved son to the world even when He didn’t had to. He sent His son in human flesh so that He may better relate with you.
During His days on earth, “He Himself has suffered being tempted. [As a result,] He is able to aid those who are tempted” Romans 1:18. He knows the feeling of being tempted. He has felt and experienced every levels of suffering and temptations you may be going through. He understands when you cry out to Him. So never for a moment think He doesn’t know what you’re going through or that He doesn’t know what it feels like to be in your position. He knows. God knows. He surely knows. If there’s anyone that understands temptations and suffering it’s Him because He too was once tempted and painfully punished.
1 Timothy 2:5 says there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. Because Christ came and suffered and was tempted, He can better mediate your prayers to God. He knows exactly where you are coming from when you ask for forgiveness for falling short of His glory. He understands your limitations and shortcomings as a being and is ever so ready and willing to forgive and welcome you in.
Jesus had to visit in the form of man “so that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people” Romans 1:17. Not only did He leave heaven to come to earth to die for you and I (1 Corinthians 15:3), but He did so also to be a great advocate for you to God. When you’re broken and hurt and words fail you to communicate to Him, He knows even before you speak.
So, when next you think nobody knows what you are going through, God knows. He knows, and He hears you. Don’t give up on yourself, because He won’t give up on you.
