All it takes

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose trusts the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, who spreads out its roots by the river, and shall not fear when heat comes, but its leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.” — Jeremiah 17:7-8

Trust—that’s all it takes.

Trust isn’t exactly the most easiest thing to do especially when the person you are trusting is physically invisible. But just like the wind is physical invisible yet you feel its presence so is He who is asking you to trust Him.

With human, there’s no guarantee that trusting your beloved friends or loved ones won’t lead to disappointments. These disappointments are in fact inevitable because we are indeed human. Depending on its frequency, your trust for them may or may not diminish over time. Additionally, there’s no gift or special reward for trusting men.

But God who is ever so consistent, unfailing, and unchanging have assured you that blessed will you be when you put your trust in Him. Not only that, He promised unwavering growth and prosperity come what may. Not every tree planted by the riverside continues to grow beautifully green and yielding fruits in drought and in heat. Yet, this is the promise the Lord has made to you—trusting Him is all it takes.

In simple terms, because you so trust Him, He will make it His business to ensure He sees you through the trials and tribulations of life. He will protect you from the drought of life. He will shield you from the heat of life.

But the key is to trust Him before the drought not during or after.
