Faith is one of those concepts, I believe, can easily be challenging to adhere to. You may have perfected your faith in Christ, but then (BOOM! BAM! BANG!) life happens. And then you find yourself: losing faith, questioning your faith, or abandoning your faith completely.
Everyday, we are unconsciously and consciously practicing and exercising faith: faith in ourselves, faith in our loved ones, faith in society, etc. But our faith in God still remains the most challenging mainly because we are yet to physically see Him.
Hebrews 11:1 tells us that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” In other words, while you may not yet physically see that which you prayed for at work, believe that it is in-fact at work. For we walk by faith, and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).
When God is at work and in the process of fulfilling His promises in your life, He is not going to send you a daily reminder that He is at work:
e.g: 8:00 pm:
My child, I just sent Angel Gabriel to visit them on your behalf. Please be patient.
He believes in your ability to have faith in Him. Without faith it is impossible to please Him. When challenges and uncertainties presents itself, it becomes much easier to start harbouring the spirit of doubt and forget how powerful God is. But, God knows it is not unlikely for us to struggle with unbelief, hence why He provides us with empowering words and promises.
Hebrews 10:23 reminds us to “hold fast the confession of our faith without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” In Matthew 17:20, God himself reminds us that “if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” A faith as small as a mustard seed: that is all you need. That is all you need to make changes towards any unpleasant situation in life. Your unpleasant circumstances are not permanent nor unmovable: speak to it! The mountain won’t move unless you speak to the mountain to move.
You have control over your circumstances and to speak into existence that which you desire from the Lord—all you need is a faith as small as a mustard seed.
